At your first appointment your medical history is taken (everything discussed is dealt with in the strictest medical confidence), followed by an examination. You may be asked to remove some of your clothing for the examination and asked to go through a series of simple movements so that the mobility of your body can be assessed inorder for an accurate diagnosis to be obtained. Once the examination is complete your prognosis and treatment plan will be explained to you.
Once treatment has begun, usually some improvement in your symptoms will be seen within a few sessions however depending on the circumstances of the problem, if there is no change after three treatments it may be necessary to refer you back to your GP or to another specialist for further investigation.
This initial consultation, which if applicable includes treatment, lasts 45 minutes. Subsequent treatments last approximately 30 minutes.
